Don't have any experience under the hood, was wondering if it's a smart move to try to install the intake myself or get help from someone else?

If you read the replies in one of your million intake threads, you would see how easy it is

You can do it. Plenty of pictures, threads and vids to assist you if you have a question. Just double check you got everything tightened down and that nothing ended up in the intake piping like a rag or something.

If you have to ask, I doubt you can do it. Definitely take it to a shop

Can always rely on someone like Bruce to give you that much needed kick in the nuts to just do it and prove him wrong. Lol! If only we all wrenched for a living or had a close friend that did. Otoh, I could probably do this job three sheets to the wind and still not screw it up.
