7.3L Forged Rod Core Motor

I've got a 7.3L sitting in my shop that I need to get rid of. I had bought it to slowly rebuild for my 95, but have since been converted to a 6.4 junkie and will be selling my 7.3 soon. It has a 7/96 build date and is complete minus injectors, turbo, dip stick, fuel pressure regulator and crank sensor.

I purchased this locally from craigslist as a core and know nothing about the history, mileage, etc. It didn't have injectors and I don't have any laying around so I have no way of checking compression or doing a leak down test. It does turn freely and easily and pumps air, so nothing major mechanical wrong. Oil Pan appears to be in okay condition and no milky or nasty oil. It was nice and clean under the valve covers so it's been at least decently taken care of. I haven't pulled the heads should someone want to give it a shot running as is or do a compression test. However, if I have someone that is seriously interested I can pull the heads and check out the cylinders.

I had a customer call from GA, got to talking and said they can't find any 7.3 motors down south, told me next time put it on Atlanta Craigslist and you'd get $1500. Wondering if it's true, might want to try it. ??

Thanks for the heads up. I've had it on Craigslist here for several weeks with not a single bite. A year ago they wouldn't last on craigslist more than a couple days.

Hmm, that sounds odd, but i may have to try it. I've got a damn near complete OBS 7.3 core engine sitting and no interest in it so far.

Yup, same here. I used to try and grab them up, but last one I sold took 4 months to sell and I only got $350 for it, complete turbo to pan, with all drive accessories and no injectors. They just aren't worth what they used to be.
