So, what to check on this one last time.

traction control can kick on if trans is slipping?

I honestly don't think it would, I could be completely off here but on semi's with traction control they go off of the abs sensors on the wheels to detect slippage and corrects itself when it senses it. Where is the speed sensor located on these trucks? Every speed sensor I've messed with is after the trans, like on semis they are on the output on the transmission, so if the trans slips it's not going to detect an increase in speed like if your wheels were actually slipping and increasing speed drastically. I have not messed a whole lot with traction control issues other than most of the time its a broken ABS sensor or funky speed sensor.

If your speed sensor is after the trans there is no way I could see a slipping transmission causing traction control issues.

Makes sense. Looks like I gotta problem in my traction control somewhere.

I wonder if it can be shut off with my Mini-Max

Sorry to dig up an old post but figured it was better than starting a new one.

Just curious how to turn the traction control off? I've got a bare bones 08 2WD Regular Cab, and the traction control kicks in when launching or any time the tires break loose, obviously what it is supposed to be doing.

Problem is I don't see any buttons anywhere in the cab to turn it off.

Should I just find and pull the fuse, or can it be done another way possibly with the MiniMaxx?

Thanks
