I've got a 96 powerstroke with the e4od, I just got the truck running after 10 months, replaced all the wiring under the hood and IDM, also removed the TS chip, she is alive. But my problem is now with the transmission, when I put it in drive the truck only moves if you put it to the floor like it's starting in 4th gear, sometime when I manually shift to first or reverse it'll attempt to stall or will stall. So why is it starting in such a high gear? I've changed tranny fluid and filter, fluid didn't look to bad and didn't smell burnt

Usually that means the shift solenoids are not getting power. Get a wiring diagram for the transmission connector and check for +12v.

Took a quick peek at the wiring harness going to the solenoids and they are spliced together, corroded and loose. Don't have time to fix tonight I leave tomorrow for work for a few months so I'll pick it up when I get home
