Looking to paint match a few things on my truck and clean up a few areas. It's an Oxford white/ silver two tone. What brands have you guys had the best results with? Not looking to do a whole lot of work but I'm willing to pay for a good product.

Maybe I made a misspoke. I'm looking for the paint guys use to do their own paint matching. I have a headache rack and an extra set of door handles to experiment with. I seem to see lot of guys who do their own painting and I was looking to give it a shot on some items I don't mind making mistakes on.

I've always used my local auto paint store...not any of the generic auto parts stores. Just give them your paint code, typically they will charger you for a quart and what ever the cost of each can is. IIRC a quart will do 3-aresol cans. Not the little tiny cans either full size rattle cans. Best option obviously is getting the paint and load it into a gun and paint it but if ya don't mind doing the rattle can way, that's the best way to do it IMO.

Edit: Just remember, prepping is your best friend...especially with rattle canning stuff.

I did my bed with duplicolor.... I just scuffed up the bed with a 3m wheel and rattled canned it. In the right light you can tell the difference. My truck is a 50/50 truck..... It looks good from 50ft away at 50mph.

From my experience, the rattlecan duplicolor doesn't hold up like real automotive paint does. Maybe I've noticed it because I painted my grille and it's more prone to being hit with road debris but I have several spots where it flaked off in big pieces. I prepped a lot and made sure it was clean and the paint didn't stick to the primer very well.

Well, they wanted $1,000(or more) to do just the sides and the tailgate. And that was providing the stripped bed.

$So for $150-ish I said *** it and did it myself. I'm a function > fashion kinda guy, anyway.
