As the title say got
P161A (INCORRECT RESPONSE FROM IMMOBILIZER CONTROL MODULE)
and
P1639 (Vehicle ID Block Corrupted or Not Programmed)
Returned the Mini Max to stock to try an SCT and got these somewhere along the way.
Did an as-built with IDS and started it once then loaded Mini Max back in, same problem.

Anybody with some insight?

Man what did you do!

What kind of sct experimental crap did you try??

It sounds like something with the pats/bcm security issue.

Definitely lost programming and now won't take anything.

If you did a total reflash as built with IDS and it didn't work, try it again. And if that doesn't work you may be looking at a module failure of some kind. Doesn't sound good. Hopefully someone has already had this happen that may have a little more insight.

Bentley (@HS) was always a big help to me when we were playing with the locked ECM deal in 2009 on a 2009 cummins.

I'm sure he would be the same to you.

Asbuilt will likely not do what you need it to here.

Perform a PCM PMI with the IDS.

Failing that - You need to blank path program it with the OE tear tag, then set all the options in the "Programmable Parameters" menu, and re-evaluate.

Alternatively, you could try setting the options in that Programmable Parameters menu, and re-trying.

The 161A means the BCM and PCM aren't familiar with each other. Do a Parameter Reset.

Do the PMI first, then the parameter reset.

You may want to force the IDS to ignore the PCM inhale data as well, before hand.

I'll PM you the instructions for that.
