I replaced the origional alternator on my truck a few months ago with a reman unit from ford and now it is bad. I have heard of other people having the same issue with the ford rebuilt alternators. I was wondering what other options are out there? Maybe something that puts out a little more power and that will last longer as well.

Bought a 200a unit from alternatorparts.com and it died 27 months later. Decided to replace it with one from DB Electrical (220a unit) and it was bad right out of the box. Finally sucked it up and bought the one I felt was best all along, but didn't want to spend the money on: DC Power. 300a, BTW.

What size should I get? I only have an amp with 2 subs and 3 gauges installed in my truck so i dont think that I will need one like the 300 amp from DC power. Would something around 220 or so be enough? And what is the max output on the stock one?

And I also checked mean green's suite but can't find what the specs are on their alternators.
