Yeah, nobody expects a 7.3 truck to be quick, everybody is aware of what 6.4's can do. A quick dinosaur powered ride has a cool factor to it no doubt.

on a 96 i would just do 160's, efuel, intercooler, 1.0 exhaust housin and a ww2. thats a set up to get the hp you asked about, maybe a little more

Do this!!

Thats why, when our old dinosaurs actually run as well or better, they have more of the wow factor.... and another reason I keep building my 7.3.... was told that it couldnt be built they way it is going to be...

Now can I run the 160s on the stock hpop as long as they are tuned mild for awhile? Or am I reverse engineering this and I need more oil and fuel first ? And is there really a benefit on the ww2 on the OBS turbo?

I would absolutely not do injectors until I had a solid fuel system on an OBS...

And as far as your original question, it's been answered a few times. 160/xxx and IC and a D66 and you'll have a fun truck, that can do everything it did stock comfortably, tow, etc...

Just another thought, my OBS has 160's, an Adrenaline, and an Efuel system I built with my own three hands...

It's pretty damn fun, and without an IC and with the stock turbo, I doubt I'm much over 300, if that.

But at 7000 pounds...

Is it tuned?

Well, it carries the front end through the 2-3 shift, and blows the tires off if I give it even a small amount of boost on the start so, maybe a touch over 300...

Or maybe it's just a light truck.

think about valve springs. I know of a chick around here with an OBS with stage 1's and gearhead tunes that bent three or more push rods and broke one too. Which idk how when they're only 160/somethings

well if she floated them that bad it'd be stupid to not do it while shes in there. It's just a matter of time before she does it again
