Just for a 6.4 update, looks like the master has to be changed as well, pricing not as bad as I thought but not the same for us up here in Canada so I will see how much this might run.

Fixed! The solution was to take it to a competent dealer. I was in and out within an hour, they updated the computer for the trailer brakes, and also updated the PCM software as a bonus. Total bill was $81.00 with tax.

The total for getting everything done :

Brake Master Cylinder $300.00
Dash trailer brake controller $ 50 (Ebay!)
Programming $80.00

Labour - Did it myself. 1.5 hrs maybe total.

The dealer wanted $1300 to do it all.

P3 has arrived and I'll compare it to my old school draw tite. My current controller is weird, feels like sometimes it works great and other times like it's not working. It'll be nice to compare the two. Pic of our toyhauler attached.

Got it installed, what a pain to get the plug into the harness in the dash. Unfortunately ran into a problem. Initially all seemed fine so I went for a drive to calibrate the power output etc.

After about a block the controller started flashing a red screen that reads "Output Shorted No Brakes". I have a 02 F350. Anyone come across this? Did i miss a setting?
