Banks CIA ??

I've seen on hhere a few builds with The Banks CIA, which I have.. Afew guys are running with top of the box of, this is for better flow I'd assume. Any reason not to do this? Does it work?

Most filters boxes are open anyways like afe, alot of people running S&B dont run the clear lid and even the newer S&B have a removable spot on the front of the box that you can take out for more air to the filter rather than only coming through the side vent. No reason not to do it. Usually the top of the filter though will become dirty with bugs and stuff, but I clean mine atleast once a month so its no big deal

There will be no noticeable gains. I took mine off because it kept sucking the filter minder in when I had high power turbos
