I overtorqued mine the first time I.changed em, looked like that. They were aftermarket but I did overtorque them.

Maybe with carbon build up in the GP blind hole.
1/4 inch ratchet and a snug twist will keep you from applying excessive force.

first thought was, what the holy ***in **** happened here? lol.... dam... wouldnt cylinder psi or hydrolock bend other chit first? or where the glow plugs the week part that relieved the pressure?

Maybe i'll have to grab one of my old Motorcraft GP's(i've got 16), throw it in my old engine, and start torquing it down till something happens

Any idea what the measurements are on the glow plug port threads? If the right fitting can be located or turned on a lathe... one might lock it into a vise and actually witness wether overtorquing causes the crazy glow plug twisty dance.

Thats some crazy stuff.
