I think Icon makes a smooth body/no resi 2.5''. You might look at that.

My 5160s are screwy in under a year, and that's with my sissy street driving self on 99% smooth pavement. They seem to have gotten really bouncy as of lately, I'm just imagining you'd do even more damage to them if I managed to do that.

I'll check out what Icon has. I was considering the 5160s because they are a reservoir shock and need something thing that will handle 3-4 hours of abuse at a time. If your 5160s are going squishy already that kinda scares me but with the Carli kit they are valved differently and also being from Carli I was hoping that if I do trash the shocks they would rebuild them with stiffer valving.

All in all, I'm hoping to have a budge of about $4000USD and I need the best performance I can get for that including shipping. I like a firm ride on road and, as stated before, it has to handle 3-4 hours of continuous abuse. I currently don't tow but that is going to change in the near future. All opinions welcome :)

On edit: I drive over that horrible rode about 12-16 times a year (6-8 times each way)

Looks like on Icon's website you can get the 2.5'' resi shocks in the lift package for just barely under your budget. The 2.5'' non resis are just over $3,000. And those are the full price, I'm sure some of the vendors could beat that.

Another avenue to consider is going through PMF, that's who has done the suspension on my current and my last truck with the exception of the shocks. I wouldn't say it saved me money, but I got more for my money in my opinion(instead of radius arm drops I got 3-link, etc.) I believe they've got their own line of bigger shocks now too.

Icon stage 2 is $3155, stage 3 is $3827 at retail price and the PMF Alpha 4.5" with 2.5s up front and 2.0s in back is $3740 and $3940 with 2.5s in all 4 corners at retail price. I like the sound of that 3 link, but I would like 2.5s in all 4 corners for future towing and because 90% of the time I have stuff in the bed of my truck. The big deciding factor is going to be shipping. I got a price quote from a place in Canada on the Carli Backcountry kit and shipping was still going to be about $650. Maybe I'll see if I can have it shipped to a friends place where I won't get charged so much for shipping when time comes.
