Best year motor?

I can get a 2005 complete for 1200 bucks, he thinks a couple injectors are bad, but you never know until you tear into it... my question is would that be a nice thing to buy and potentially build, or should i do that to my early 2004? there are more options for more oil in the late motors correct? worst case scenario, can I make money coring the motor?

There all about the same as far as I know from working on them. Some hpop differences but nothing major I'm aware of. You can either go a dieselsite hpop for the 03-04 or the RCD for the 05-07.

is the dieselsite high output good? i havent really looked into more oil because i didnt really plan on ever going that big. i might offer the guy like 800 bucks and take what i need for now and core/sell the rest. or keep it and build it, i never know what im going to do until i do something.
