Looking on buying a 6.7 for a new work rig. Would really like to buy a 2015 but most likely will have to side with a 2011-14 due to finances. I will be ******** after a few thousand miles. My question is which year should I be looking at and what is the deference between the 1st gen and 2nd gen 6.7 besides turbo upgrade.

I'm probably going to buy a new XL 16 or 17 unless I find an awesome deal on a loaded used 6.7. I'd be interested in this info also.

I would look for a '13 and up Lariat to get the nicer center stack. They all have their minor issues but overall are great trucks. I have 65k on mine and it has had a new radiator, new fuel rail, and a couple sensors replaced prior to ********. Lots of good used trucks on the market now with the new body style on the dealer lots. Best of luck in your search!

Usually the preferred year (2016) is the last year before a model change as the teething problems worked out.

Usually the least preferred year (2017) is the first year of a model change.
