Bosch 044 pump???

On the outlet side of the 044 pump does anyone know if you need to leave the check valve? looking apparatus on or do you take that off and screw the AN adaptor right into the pump?

I never mess with that, just screw in an AN fitting and hook 'er up.

Hope you have a huge supply line to that pump. ??
