I'm looking for information on brake pads. Putting them on a 2011 f250. What does everyone else run? I'm looking at performance friction carbon metallic pads. Has anyone ran those?

I'm gonna run either napas ceramic pad or oriellys Wagner thermo quiets. I'm a parts guy so when the customer wants a good pad I just look at the parts stores top ceramic pads. I have seen that brand u are talking about but have never bought any.

Went to oriellys and they had nothing but the carbon metallics. Ended up getting them. Was able to get them in no problem and did a little bit of driving with them. A lot better than what was in there but the previous ones were also gone.

Factory Ford pads. Very hard to beat. Proven in the lustrous oil and gas industry.

My oem 15 pads were done at 30k miles. Lots of brake dust too. Replaced with Wagner thermo quiets and love them! A lot less dust and stop great.

Done at 30k? Wow that's kind of early. I'm at 62k on my oem pads and they are just now getting low

Mine are done at 44k. I guess I'm not the only guy running them that fast.

I put auto zone full ceramics on mine and I have no dust.

Ceramics and big trucks really don't mix, especially towing etc.

I've heard countless stories of them not working well.

But of course I've never personally ran them.

I'll be going semi metallic or carbon metallic.

How do they feel? Do they squeak? Brake dust? Etc?

Well I'm hard on my truck. 30k and they were almost metal on metal lol

Like Jomax said, go with Carbon metallic pads. Carbon Ceramic pads only work well with Carbon Ceramic rotors. I tried running them on steel rotors for race events *road course/auto-x* and they'll glaze like a doughnut if you really work them.

They drive like grandpas and never tow

This particular truck is only a tow rig but he only tows a 36ft 5'er about 8-10 times a year and it's a 2012. Definitely not seeing the daily driver tow rig kind of driving like others have mentioned.

I've only noticed a little bit of a difference between the ceramic and carbon metallic as far as stopping power, on the other hand I don't tow with it everyday either. When my wheels pitted the warranty department said that it was because of the brake dust. So that's why I went with ceramic

And your rotors will vanish now instead of the pads....

Don't take that disrespectful but the pad must match the rotor.

I'll order some now then....better get new rotors for my other vehicles with ceramic pads too....they have close to 25k or 30k miles though....shouldn't they be gone by now
