Tech thinks noise is coming from #8 bottom end. Wrist pin is what he suspects. All rods were in spec...I am hoping for the best. Probably have to pull cab again when I can manage it.

It really sounds to me like the HPFP is failing. Likely due to us cranking it for a good amount of time with cab off and glow plugs out making sure we had oil to all rockers and such...without fuel lines.

Then I had to crank the chit out of it to get it to fire when cab went on.

It sounds a lot like when the first hpfp went in warranty. I swore the engine was blown up and it was just a pump. It was ok until it warmed up too, then got loud. I do not want to keep driving until I get a code for rail pressure cause it will send metal to the rails and injectors...or if it is in bottom end might destroy something.

I got 1800 on it now. Noise comes and goes. Been running the pizz out of it.

I hate to think it is the old ticking noise from the early tsb. Funny that it was right after first oil change.

Keeping fingers crossed. Gotta haul boat home from SC end of week.
