We knocked the bigger stuff off the block with green rolok disks, then used honing stones to get it as flat as possible and clean.

Im a fan of the white 3M finger discs that go on my die grinder. Works wonders and doesn't remove too much.

Those will all take material off.

Brass scraper or razor blades if your careful. Those discolored spots are perfectly fine.

dont bother with brass scraper.. they are too thick on the filet end of things... go buy about 10 square razor blades and get a can of FORD metal PREP from your dealer... go to town....

We were gonna use that metal prep stuff, guy said it would be in stock the next morning.. It wasn't :rolleyes: using the honing stones with the cab still down was a major pain (literally)

the blue gasket should come off by the 2md or third coat and pass with blade.. after that its focusin in on the carbon build up.. ive had the carbon stack so high it broke my blade... each side should take you 45mins- 1 hour...
