Somewhere down in Texas..
Its a 5 year old truck. You bought it used, it could have been repaired cheaply by the previous owner. The dealer has no responsibility in fixing it for you. Thats one of those things that happens when you buy used...you take that gamble. Whats up with this feeling of entitlement that people have nowadays?? "i bought a used vehicle that i know nothing about...its messed up now, somebody better fix this damn thing!" Give me a gotdamn break!

My 06 has rust around a couple cab lights and I basically need new doors because they're rotting at the bottom. Very disappointed with the quality of paint on this truck.

It's been repainted more than likely.
Thats what it looks like to me. It might be the pic but it looks to have sanding marks and what appears to be a tape line.

I don't believe I've ever seen factory clear coat peel on any mid-2000s Superduty.

I was thinking tape line to but that is the sheet metal edge on the side panel were it wraps around to the bulkhead of the bed.

I would take it to a good body shop and have them wet sand and re-clear. But try the dealer first. They may have a body shop and may take care of it for you.

I'm prolly just gonna take it to a good body shop as suggested.

I have done tons of research on this truck and can't find we're it has had any wrecks or body work done.... It's started to peel from the seem we're the bed side meats the front on the bed

Update the othe side of the bed is doing it as well.... So I'm guess the factory paint is flawed or they have repainted the bed

If I'm seeing it right, the tape line is actually on the radius of the bedside, outside of the body seam and spot welds. Like I said it could just be the pic.

It's quite likely only one side has been painted. My wife found a shopping cart rack in the Costco parking lot with the side of my truck. They just painted that side when it was fixed. Since you're catching it early, it may not be too big of deal to fix. Good luck!

Or spend $300 dollars, and have the bed rhino lined, and just have them spray over the lip... no more clearcoat
