Looking to go to 400/400s and enough airflow to handle them. Will shimmed comp 910s suffice or is it pretty much a must to go to a beehive style spring like the ones swamps and elite offer?

Valve springs don't care what injectors you have...you'll need to figure out your boost & drive pressures, do some calculating, or contact someone with experience to advise you.

Big single turbo, twins, head work, valve seat work and cam can all be contributing factors and affect a spring (or seat pressure) recommendation.

Long term durability, (seat/valve wear) may also affect a recommended seat pressure.

What turbo(s) and for what application will you be using the engine?

Either s475 or s480 aand up to 2 stages of nitrous. Stock heads and cam for now. Truck is mostly just a trailer queen not a daily driven truck so it won't have to put up with the wear from very much mileage getting put on it.

So....full competition vehicle? Are you looking to compete and do well with this truck, or do you just want something that will get you by? Serious question btw, not trying to be rude.

Drag truck/weekend toy. The motors coming out so I figured I would either swap in beehives or reshim the 910s. I just don't know how much a 910 is actually good for. If they won't do then it's going to get new springs.

Thanks Matt and nick. That's what I was thinking but like I said I didn't want to drop 500 on springs and them someone say that shimmed 910s work for what I needed. I'm not cheaping out just don't want to spend money where it's not needed.

Comp beehives with the seats, retainers, and locks are around 300$ if I recall correctly

At the moment I'm running shimmed 910s.

Been thinking the same about upgrading. Beehives were what a lot of guys used back in the day. No reason why they would not work.

Yea, but have you seen the shape of 7.3 valve seal? The OEM style seal would probably interfere with a beehive spring. The seal would have to be changed to a teflon/ fluoro elastometer viton style seal.

Yes, you could run no seal but not a fan of it.
