If the thermostat was stuck open my coolant wouldn't be heating up. I replaced it a couple months ago for that issue. My dummy gauge wasn't heating up. Where is the eot sensor located?

Also could the egr Valve be messing with fan ops?

that code says the hall effect sensor in the clutch isn't reporting
either a wire or internal issue is my guess

the 2 sensors should be close to the outside air after a overnight sit

so the one sounds off to Me

Is that the fan clutch connector? I was trying to look for it. That code is a ghost code my mil light was never on.

Location
Katy, Tx.
CEL doesn't have to come on for every code...only "hard" codes make it come on, "soft" codes don't...that's ur connector for fan but EOT sensor is near the filter housing

Ok. I'll get that changed out. As far as the fan clutch goes. Is there a way to test it to see if it's still good? And one more thing does the egr valve have anything to do with my fan?

the EGR valve being unplugged can have a lack of cooling effect on some trucks due to fan cycling issues but that isn't what you have going on IMHO

check the wiring from the connector to the clutch

the fan is controled via a signal from the PCM and then heats fluid in the viscous coupling to manipulate set fan speeds the hall effect sensor sends the rpms bac to the PCM

yours apparently isn't reporting so IDK what the PCM does fan clutch wise in this case ?

So when they go out it's more times than not a wiring issue?

they had a chafe issue from the fan to harness on some units but most times it's the unit that fails not the wiring IMO

i bought mine for under 200 brand new and it took an hour to swap however I waited till i did a full PM with radiator / hoses / belt /water pump/tensioner CAC tube
to make the adventure worth the effort LOL
