I came across another post on another forum where a guy had an early build 2011 and had compression issues and decided to pull the heads and discovered a cracked valve on every cylinder and posted pictures of each. So what would be symptoms of cracked exhaust valves and what would it cost to swap heads on a 6.7? I've found rebuilt heads for $1750 but what would be a reasonable price for labor? I know you'd need gaskets and probably studs. Also is there a way to test and get a fairly certain answer? I ask because I have an April 2010 build with 189k and I've got a good bit of smoke /vapor coming from my ccv ******. The oil cap doesn't blow off but it's a good bit. My truck runs great but he said his did too until all of the sudden a cylinder lost some compression and that valve actually had a piece missing and scoured the cylinder wall. I was planning on getting a streetmax r from Midwest but I'm thinking I may want to look into checking my valves to make sure they're good.
