Yes. Story goes it is a single family owned. Ran until it didn't then parked. Then son got truck running and it ran until it didn't.

I bought it as a crank no start. Looks like the son started 'modding' the truck (there was 140 HP tune in hydra when I got it) and installed the typical 18y Old kid stereo. I found the dash harness cut for the stereo, cigar lighter, and 12 v and the wires were twisted together by hand then covered with cheap electrical tape.

Best I can deduce the wires were continually grounding on the dash frame. That probably fried the gem. The increased HP and driving style probably cooked the IDM, main harness, and injectors. In hindsight I probably could have re-oringed the injectors and re shimmed them, but at 275K easier to replace. I have waaaaay more into this truck than intended but should have a good vehicle once complete.

Thaks to all your help that is!

Status update:

Power steering pump swapped, Pulley was so rusted it busted my tools, but got her done.
AC was a total loss, so much crap in system had to change compressor, condenser, Front and rear evap, expansion valve, drier and orifice tube. Then it held vacuum overnight. Took 4.5 lbs of R134a or 5.5 cans (12 oz)

Went to do a fluid replacement for rear end and guess what? .5 gallon of water came out before oil, sigh. It must have been recent because no rust in the housing. Ordered a finned Ford cover since I'm in there. Waiting on parts. Looks like rear diff vent rubber hose was off for a while, I fixed that as well.

Trans pan drop and filter replace went smoother, seems to be ok.

I an fixing some minor odds and ends, waiting for last bits and bobs, but reassembling now. Instrument bezel went back in and finalizing some wiring, need to finish rear backup camera (that was fun running wire through hatch.), just got to drill it into rear glass handle plastic.

Should be insured and tagged by end of week, FINALLY!
