OK, real world stories how much can you take off the stock (6.4) heads? I've read all there is on the 6.0, but that's not what I'm building.
What is the factory piston to valve clearance? I should add that my block has not been decked.
Thanks in advance

From my experience you can cut more off the head than Ford specs, but you have to make the necessary adjustments to valve recession (valve job) and valve stem height if you do. Just my .02 cents.

It's an overall head height measurement that determines how much can be removed. There is variation in thickness even with new heads

I've noticed some heads new (reman) from Ford are already below their spec for overall head height.

They are getting the full meal deal, experienced guy doing them so I'm sure I wont have issue but just wanted to ask the question. Makes sense with the overall height vs material removed.
