On a like midwest's where one line from each pump is connected to each bank and the pumps are connected by the other two ports what would happen if the serpentine belt broke and the second pump stopped?

You'd probably be pullin over to change it since you'd not only lose that pump but also your charging system and a/c.. I believe anyways...

From personal experience, with the diesel dr kit, the engine will continue to run on the stock location pump but you will lose power steering and brakes and alternator. It'll still run but it won't be fun driving.

I wonder how many people have actually broken the belt off of one? I feel the elite diesel one would cause some damage if the belt broke off of that kit.

My belt didn't actually break, my front pump locked up, the pump pulley came unbolted and fell off, so the belt came off.

How exactly did it lock up? Just bad luck? Never heard of one "locking up"

Not sure what caused it. It was a reman ford pump that I'd just stuck on with less than 3000 miles. I couldn't turn the shaft with a wrench. Something internal, I couldn't tear the pump apart because it was warrantied, although the rest of the fuel system wasn't when that pump destroyed everything else.

Why would damage happen if the elite kits belt broke? You'd loose one pump but still have brakes, etc.

Webb is correct. The engine will still run on one pump. I have a Diesel Dr kit and during a tensioner swap, I perposely started it without the belt because i had this same question. It does run.

Because the use an extra belt infront of the main belt. Lot of moving **** for their belt to get wrapped up in if it's just flying around

But honeslty i thought the dual pumps were pretty much ran 1 pump per rail. Just looking at the way they hook up (second pump straight into the passenger side rail)

From experience you cut the belt pull it out from around the fan clutch. If you're smart and shut it down once you hear something, it won't hurt anything. And you can still drive it home with power steering, brakes and alternator.

My front pump locked up and I drove the truck about 5 miles to where I could park. Lost all power accessories though. Diesel Dr. Kit here. The pumps are connected with a line as well, so I'm assuming fuel was still being pushed through the pump that was locked up and into the passenger side bank. Took my front pump part, one of the plungers broke and caused it to lock up

Injectors just got to Rykan Holders shop down in Florida. We will see what the word is on those. Also got a local supplier to machine me a new pulley. Turn around was a day or two and its identical to the one from the kit The truck has been on the back burner the last few months. Had some major projects going on at my house and trying to save for a wedding this coming fall.

Definitely going to Rudys in April. I'm not sure about TS with all the drama going on. I saw they took it off of the ODSS schedule. May go to Scheids instead, although the stories you hear about it are pretty much what has deterred me from going to that event. How have you guys been Dev? Definitely look forward to meeting up at an event this year!

Scheids was fun last year. I'll definitely go again. Any others are an awful long hike.
