While doing my overhaul/adding performance parts I decided to get a replacement EPBV tube. While I was removing the old tube the threads on the fitting in the exhaust manifold were completely stripped off.

I ordered a new fitting for the manifold but my concern is when I remove that I am afraid the threads will be ruined there as well becasue that cast metal seems to be "soft".

I have been hitting it with penetrant for the last few days and will do it once more tonight before tackling it tomorrow.

Does anyone have any thoughts/tricks they can let me in on or what size tap I will need if the threads are destroyed when I remove the fitting?

Thanks

Heat... Hit it with a small torch and heat it up. If your talking about the fitting going into the mainifold it should be 1/8" NPT.
