Excursion fuel tank in a truck

I am wondering about the feasibility of putting a fuel tank from an Excursion in my '99 truck as an aux tank. Ever been done? I can't find it if it has.

You will lose the spare tire and you may need a different receiver for it to fit.

Its not worth the hassle. I had an excursion tank for years. It would fit, but would be a total pain in the ass.

Sold it to Steven IIRC... And I dont think he ever installed it.

Been doing more research. Starting to look like the bed would have to come off.

Don't care about loosing the x-brace where the spare used to go, but I got built in storage under my camper shell. It would be a huge PITA to remove. I think I should have done any bed off work first...

Next question. How does one tie a second tank into an existing fuel system so it feeds the engine, or main tank? Also how do you wire it up so it can be used with your fuel gauge?
