I got the yellow wire to constant power and the red wire to red with yellow stripe under dash it's a gray plug with 6 wires I think

Apparently you have the gauge power wire hooked to the light switch wire. You need that to a key on +12v source.

Then if there's a separate wire for them to light up when the lights come on then connect it to the light switch

Do you no what color the 12v switch wire is under the dash ?

There are several. I usually just poke around with a voltmeter until I find one

I used the ignition wire when I hooked my gauges up. Just poke around some underneath the steering column. The thicker gauge wires is where you should start looking. I can probably check tomorrow if you want for the color wire
