Did you reset the speedo for the larger tires? Will make a huge difference on the display. I bet you dont get much if any worse fuel mileage. Do you have any pictures btw?

I have a 12 450 and the mileage got better when I put on the Toyo 285/75/17's (aprox 34"). It brought the rpm down about 300ish and still tows 26,000lbs like a beast.

truck looks killer, i think 450s have too much gear anyway so leave it alone, that should put you in the 410 range and i bet that thing is plenty happy. That mileage wont come back no matter what

Any pictures?? that is the exact size I am thinking about. Did you have to run a spacer towing that weight?

I have 2" spacers, could have went 1" but I didn't want to cut the studs down. No spacers only left about a 1/4" empty and would touch for sure when loaded.

thanks for the info, are the wheels the factory 6.5 width? No issues with roll out on the tire? I'm asking because I tried to get discount to mount the exact size on mine and they wouldn't do it.

the mileage loss is mostly from the aggressive tread, and wider tire too. more rolling resistance, more fuel to get going, highway mileage shouldn't be down much...idk i don't check, I figure if i have 2000 dollar mud tires on truck that is driven on the streets most days, I really don't care what my fuel economy is....my only complaint about the whole situation is the pumps shuts off at 100 or even 75 dollars at most stations unless i go in and prepay for more or pay with cash, which requires going in, which i'm not all about.

Yes factory wheels and drove just fine. 40k miles and they are almost done but with towing 10-30k almost daily, burnouts, doughnuts and narrow rims they did very well. You have to play with the air pressure out back to try and get even wear out of them though, down around 50 psi is where I'm running the rears.
