So I am working on replacing the head gasket on my truck and resealing some of the lower gaskets. I have cleaned the block deck today and I noticed that there is some surface erosion on the rear coolant port. The erosion is irregular and seams to be up about .003.:wtf: Will this cause me problems with the head gasket or not??

The Picture I have included is not my engine but shows what I was talking about.

There would be no reason you should have any issues. The block erosion is very common along the coolant passage. Just make sure it doesnt go into the sealing surface.

Thanks That had me worried when I saw it. Does any one know why it happens, is caused by the coolant that used or cavitation or some thing else?
