It could br a leaking exhaust manifold, they tend to shut up when hot and expansion occurs, thereby sealing itself.

Should I worry about it keeping the truck from starting or should it be okay after some cranking?

The truck should not have any problems starting. It should be ok, at least short term. Leak that close to the valves can potentially cause an issue on short trips with rapid heat changes when shut off, and it possibly will try overfueling to get the first egt hot enough for what yhe truck wants to see if the leak gets bad enough.
