Horrible squeeling from front axle?

Yesterday my truck started squeling. I figured I had a break hanging up. I went ahead and drove it home. Got up this morning and looked at it. I noticed metal shavings on my passenger wheel so I pulled the wheel. Rotor looked like it could be replaced so I pulled it to. Brake pads looked like chit. I put new pads and rotors on and bolted everything back up. It sounds just as bad now. I figured I'd check my hubs and they are nearly impossible to turn by hand. After driving it down my drive way and back it looks like my rotor is ate up again. Not that bad but doesn't look new after a quarter mile. I Googled it and found this video of a truck making the same sound.

If the inner spindle bearing is shot you'll probably need a stub shaft too.

Stub shaft was actually good. Had to replace the bearing on it but that should take care of it.

Any ideas on the differences between the pre 3-99 and post 3-99 hubs? I can get 2 of the post 3-99 hubs for 115. A pre 99 is 90 bucks for 1.

No difference in any of the hubs. And that stub shaft looks trashed?

The rotor hat is different on the e99. You can put l99 hubs on it but you need rotors too. I can't remember if you need anything else. Also I recommend timkin hubs. The cheapo from the parts house will go out pretty quick

If the sensor ring in the hub is going bad it can cause false activation and the brakes won't work well, unhook sensor abs is deactivated and no more brake problem

Did you mean 4x4 lock hub or bearing? Didn't see your post below the picture before. But that stub is trashed.

I meant the hub bearing. I replaced the locking hubs in January

No. Cant remember the #s off the top of my head but they are different.

Front axle joints use inside C-clips while rear u joints use outside snap rings.

Few of the differences off the top of my head.
