how likely is the white smoke coming out the exhaust and the empty degas bottle just a bad egr cooler. the valve was unplugged for a couple years then just plugged back in. no programmer just stock.

Fill the bottle. Jack the ass end of the truck way up in the air. Pressurize the cooling system with the valve out and look down the EGR hole. I bet you'll see antifreeze.

Dont even have to jack it up. Pressureize and start it. Instant results

As long as you're gonna drain it very soon just use water, no point in wasting antifreeze. Water will freeze though so be careful.

Pressure tester.
