How to paint 08+ different cover???

Need help painting 08 differential cover. Want to paint it black but leave fins shiny. Do I need to prep the aluminum or primer it. What clear coat to use. Thanks

fins aren't that shiny out of the box

polish fins with metal polish

clean cover with non residue spray

paint but have a rag handy with some paint remover like carb cleaner and wipe the fins clean as you go

use washers to prevent paint chips

Buy a Mag-Hytec.

Just clean it good, paint it and then sand the ends of the fins with a sander just enough to knock the paint off if a mag hytec look alike is what you want

sanding the fins with a sander is tough with these the fin tips are round and not even with each other lake an overpriced Mag HyTec
