Hey Guys, I just wanted to put this out there for all the people putting off and waiting to change out the plastic POS stock IC pipe for the H&S one. I was one of those saying I have time before it fails, it wont happen to me, I will get around to it sooner or later. Well now from experience I can say DONT WAIT. I work an hour from my house and my truck decided to go ahead and let loose of that Stock IC pipe about 30 miles from the house. After a big tow truck bill and good shop that luckily had one already in stock,I now have the piece of mind that failure mode is taken care of.

Completely agree, didn't even have my second 6.7 a week before I ordered it and installed it as soon as I got it. I love it so much, I still had the stock one (replaced blown one w/ stock one before I heard of HSM's) for my first 6.7 & left HSM's on for the trade-in for the next fella.

I obviously ordered my Livewire & *** del in that first week two; along with an intake.

Mine went out about 70 miles from the nearest town. I was able to cover the small crack with some gorrilla tape. I got to the town at 1:05 went to the ford parts department, they said they closed at 1 and couldn't help me. Drove the rest of the way home going 40mph trying not to create any boost. What should've been a 2.5 hr drive took me 6hr

Yea there no trying to temporarily fix mine. It completely blew off from where it connects to the throttle body. Good ole duct tape couldn't even put it back together for the drive home.

Mine crapped out around 28k while I was out of state testing our Top Sportsman car. I band aided it with zip ties as it cracked around the metal clip that held it to the throttle body. We rigged up some reinforced Semi, radiator hose in place which got me home to TN. from NJ. and then some while I ordered the H&S from Mike at No Limit. It's a must and not an option imo.

Our heavy @$$ 2011 450 with 4.30 gears never blew up the plastic pipe. Had about 170k when I had to do the 15 turbo kit because it popped the turbo. When I did the 15 kit, I did the H+S replacement pipe so I wouldn't have to work on it again. The original o-ring/clip design is nice, just unfortunate that they use plastic components.

EDIT: I am pretty sure the plastic one did finally fail though when I put it in the burn barrel. haha.

Ha, yeah, that'd probably cause an um failure. It's interesting you gave that example. My first 6.7 was a '11 450 w/ 4.30s also & it blew its around well, I think 90-100k (sorry, brain dumped that to make room upstairs lol). At the time I just had the d** del, S&B intake, & was in my 175hp over stock tune. I was just goin down the street right off of base with a 45 mph limit. I was gonna show off to the friends I had with me to get lunch but, uh yeah, not so much after that lol. At least it was easily identified and a pretty cheap to fix.
