IDM relay ticking

I was searching for a fuel and oil leak with the truck idling. It died. Walked back over to the drivers seat and heard a constant ticking. The ticking was coming from the IDM relay. Pulled the relay and ticking stopped. Any ideas what is causing this??

Truck still run? I'm not positive but I think when that happened on truck the fuel bowl heater shorted out and took a fuse with it. Someone with more knowledge will chime in and should be able to help I know it's a pretty common thing to happen

No the truck won't start. I'll see what I can find with the fuel bowl heater

Lol I feel like a dumb ass. Fuse #22 engine control was blown.

As stated above give the fuel bowl heater wire a good inspection, It was ground out causing it to blow the fuse. I don't think you even need it anyway.

No, unplug that stupid heater!!

I've had the heater removed for quite some time. The black tape had rubbed through and exposed one of the wires.

Yup unplug the heater tape up the wires if they are exposed and replace the fuse
