The flat design has been used successfully for quite a while. Pretty sure WOP had the first flat plenums...we sold a bunch over the years before the buyout. I have a set on my race motor...held on with international grey sealant...they have held fine at 118psi. I would take sealant over an o-ring any day.

Misunderstood by my stupid smart phone!

Thank you sir!

I like the idea of a cleanly installed/removable o-ring but if less service means using a wet sealant, so be it.

Its a tough decision with so many quality parts to.choose from. There are worse problems to have I suppose, lol.

you ever see body panels get glued rather then welded at a body shop?? I see a test at a friend shop one day..they glued 2 panels together..no trix done to it..just a little prep work.. then they put it in a frame straitening machine and stretched it..the new metal ripped 6 inches from where it was glued ... if you know how to clean and prep for the glue.(and not afraid to get a little dirty) .it will out last an oring by a long shot...if you dont drive your truck every single day and you let her sit..them oring are going to dry rot over time just like the oil cooler, fuel bowl and turbo orings....
I don't think the Lord's adhesives used for that type of application are very similar to the gray Ford/Wacker/IH sealant though.

I've seen you say this countless times... Your so full of ****.

I mean really, lets try and stretch to some unimaginable time frame of 15 years that a 2000 F-250 with RiffRaff Plenums will have a leak from the O ring splitting...

Dumbass...

Mine were leaking all the way around on both plenums w/ a stock turbo @ only 30psi and only 275k miles at the time... Just sayin'.. I've never used Riff Raff's plenums, but I wouldn't hesitate to. The glue fails too, so don't act like this $hit will go a million miles without failure.. I've seen quite a few trucks w/ less than 300k miles have plenum leaks. I run DI cast plenums on mine now, which are glued on.

why do you suppose DI, Beans, WOP, still use the glue?? these guys actually work and build these motor's.. if an oring would have been a better idea..I would think they would have made the change a long time ago..

Joe
5 or 6 years ago there was a member on one of these forums making the oring plenums.. there was also a guy making the FXR witch was called the CCK back then..I remember you trashing them idea's back then for the very same reason i do..what has changed other then the logo??
