Locking out 1st gear.

It hasn't been done yet through programming correct? What is your thoughts on it as an easy daily driver. I do it manually but don't care to manually shift my truck.

First gear is so short in our trannies that at times it just spins right out and seems to (I said seems because I don't have verifiable evidence saying different.) spin right through and slow down and shift. In town it can be really jerky too.

^^WHS^^! Also it probably would yield better MPG with a lite foot in the city.

Main interest is fuel economy and smoother take off.

Whynot was talking to Matt at gearhead about possibly making a tune that will start in 2nd and when in tow haul would use 1st like normal. I'm not sure if he's heard back from him about a yes or no on it yet.

This is exactly how it should work.

I have it locked out in tow haul. pretty nifty. really doesn't change driving much unless you have early lockup .
