Long story short I'm just replacing the heads on my 6.0

My question is this. What are the best after market heads for the 6.0? Performance or otherwise? Any and all suggestions and recommendations are welcome.

The best heads are to go back with Oem. Numerous problems from about every aftermarket head out there.

I have used Oem heads for sale that have been magnafluxed and decked, ready to bolt on.

Or Ucf uses Oem heads to add Orings if you're doing a pretty big power build. You can still get reman heads from ford also, but they still should be decked and magd.

Ok.....now I got that out the way and checked them out I like what I'm reading. Now my next question is this. 18mm or 20mm and what your take on the porting? Worth the extra cash for a truck that is a daily that is used to tow and only looking to make around 600hp?

18mm or 20mm depends on what you have on your truck, though you can make either work. Just make sure you get the appropriate gasket set for whatever you get. I'd try to stay with what you have though, since some parts on top changed and you may have to make a couple changes too. I'd skip the porting on your build.

Even though the UCF heads are just refurb OEM heads they won't crack like the OEM heads do?

I was looking at the PROMAXX heads. Thoughts?

I am going to replace the heads on my truck in the next couple of weeks. I think I am going to go oem. The factory heads have 235k on them so hopefully this next set will last as long. Lol

Hope not, because that is what I will be buying.

Also, don;t know if you mentioned how many miles are on the truck, but stock oem heads will last a while with studs ( this all depends on installer, what you use the truck for, tunes etc.)

Trucks sitting at 175ish. Either have a head gasket or a head issue again. So while in there just going to replace everything and call it a day.

So, why haven't aftermarket companies improved the strength and of these heads?? Seems like if the are even a bit improved they would dominate the market.

Hard to increase the amount of fasteners holding them on after the fact...
