Does anyone know of a reliable machine shop around the Ft worth or Waco area? I'm looking to get a set of heads cleaned up and have the works done, and to get o-ringed.

Check with Mad Matt's Diesel. I don't know who he uses but that guy does a lot of 6.0 heads for Matt and has a pretty decent turn around time.

Got him on the phone but he says he only recommends it for racing applications. But I know many people use the o-rings for dd's. Any other suggestions?

I don't know of any myself. How much power you plan on running to need orings?

Matt has never lead me astray. I have talked to him about many mods on these trucks. If he said it was a waste or not a good idea. I would trust him.

Im not doubting the guy one bit. I'd just personally like to have them for peace of mind. Power wise Im hoping to be in the mid 600's on fuel then add spray later on.

O-ringed heads are the way to go. UCF Machine does them and MPD also does them. MPD installs o-ringed heads on every build they do. Sounds like this Matt guy isn't very knowledgeable with o-ringed heads

Yeah I knew about UCF. Im going to call them tomorrow and see what it going to take to get them up to PA. Shipping will be crazy Im sure, but it's worth it. And I agree with you, o-ringed heads are the bee's knees from what all I've read.

for what its worth, we have our local machine shop do it, we recommend it on anything over stock/powermax turbo setups. Its extra insurance, we have plenty of daily driven trucks driving around with oringed heads. fire ringed blocks, different story....

Talked to the guys from UCF this morning and he's sending me a couple boxes they have to ship my heads in. Very knowledgeable guys. Now just the waiting game.
