So sense I got to Detroit ice only driven the truck once. On the way up here it did fine for the 20 hour trip other than the AC not working. I took it out yesterday for a drive down to the river to look around and everything seemed to be working fine other than the AC which is normal, it hasn't worked all summer and I haven't had time to fix it.
Well today we had a bad storm blow in and kill the power to the hotel were staying in. When my computer died I figured I would take the truck for a drive and let my phone charge sense the power is still out. When I got in the truck I noticed my radio was powered up and that caught my attention but the batteries weren't dead so I continued on with my plans. As soon as I pulled out of the hotel parking lot the first thing I noticed was the speedometer wasn't working, and that made my blood start to boil, as if the hot humid air hadn't already done so.
So my question tonight while I lay in this sauna of a hotel room is... Why does the power to the accessories inside the cab (radio, windows, power locks extra) stay on when the key is off, out of the ignition switch, and the door is open stay on? I had to unhook the batteries to avoid dead batteries tomorrow.
I assume the speedometer not working is due to the wheel speed sensor, which I will be changing when I get off work tomorrow. Sorry for the long post guys but I am no electrician and suck at finding wiring issues. And I'm also bored and can't sleep in this 90° room. I hope y'all are having a good night and I look forward to your help and answers.
