Looking forward to seeing some rowdya$$ trucks at Rudy's Saturday. Don't let the rain scare yall off. The Bud Lights go down just as easy. Can't begin to tell ya how bad I wish my truck was ready, she was gonna get a full dose of it all. Maybe they'll let me strap down my gfs caddy to the rollers

After speaking with some folks at Rudy's last weekend, and the many conversations ive had with my shop where my truck is at -- we're all wanting to see what we can get out of her with a single ---we're ditching my compounds and [hopefully selling them(71/59) ] .

We're eyeing an s472, or 75. With that being said, what are y'all looking at driveability/lag , towing/lag...etc ??

Thanks in advance for your responses

It really depends on you and what you want out of it. For my driving style, I won't ever even do a single...but my truck is manual and will never see a track...I don't mind giving up a little top end for spool up. IIRC Cody had a S472 or 475 and Eric (at PTP) has found a single he really likes so they would be able to provide a better perspective than me. What stall is your TC? Tuning will be huge for running a single that size on stock fuel. I know it is not popular on 6.4s, but I still think swapping to 15% nozzles was one of my favorite mods (I still have a single stock HPFP).

Thanks for your response. The stall will be a 2.2k , doing a colt stg 1 cam, dual fuelers and some 100% nozzles, along with a zmax Jr intake, and some other supporting mods. That will let me keep my current set up, or go to a single.

With the single or keeping compounds - my driving style/goals will remain same (nasty daily driver, occasional track and dyno appearances). What I'm hoping to accomplish is to have a well put together build that is reliable, and just overall nasty. I don't tow anymore, but will if situation arises. Spoke with mdp at Rudy's about the potential for more than wanted tuning sessions and was told they have that ironed out for most part, so I would probably go with their recommendations.

My bad....obviously I got this thread confused with another and thought you were staying with stock fuel. That is a whole different animal!!! With good tuning to limit smoke when you dont want it, it should definitely be a fun street truck. I am sure it will run a little hotter than you are use to when cruising, but a S475 should keep EGTs reasonable once she spooled for those occasions when your right gets heavy. What are you hoping she will put down?

I'm sure with the mods I'm aiming for the mid to upper 800s +/- will be easily attainable. One thing that is a pain in my arse right now is getting the cam put in. The motor was balanced to perfection with a stock cam, and might be sending it back to the builder with my new cam so no imperfections arise down the road. At the time of original build we weren't really considering a cam from what I remember. Funds had a big role in that. I just hate to have a built motor with a stock cam. We'll see. Still a few months out on getting everything installed and out raping NC roads.:fordoval:

Thanks man! Small world for sure!

Definitely go up there when you can, honest folks that shoot straight, couldn't ask for more. They're definitely taking good care of me, and have turned out some pretty nasty trucks, and side by sides. Went up there yesterday to shoot the schit, and annoy them. Haha. Their shop is top notch.

She's going in the shop for new life as early as next week. My patience has finally paid off. Pics and progress coming soon.

On Thanksgiving I'm thankful for.....a kicka$$ job building power lines that provides me with the means to enjoy diesel power. More to come. Hope everyone has a good Holiday!

Hell yea me too, taking my go pro up there tomorrow to get some cleaner shots. Hoping we can get the motor out, and new one in. Front cover is chewed up, and just ordered 4 new stock injectors. I'm sure we'll find some more surprises as the replacement progresses. Oh well. Got to pay to play!

Friday surgery @ NCB Diesel & Off road

#5 is almost cracked all the way across. Multiple valve stamps on the other pistons.

Perfect timing for me- a customer was selling his Carli commuter package, and returning his f250 back to stock height before he traded the truck in. So while my truck is in the shop I'm probably going to have the parts installed. Believe he had around 12-13k miles on the set up. I have heard nothing but good out of Carli , and was very tired of the 4'' lift on my truck. I think it will sit perfect, and ride like a dream with the commuter kit.

Trans and motor installed. Both built to hell. Doubt I'll be tearing this combo up anytime soon....

Got the snails on. Prototype EDE with some mods.....I'll leave it at that, and who I got it from. Decided against a single etc....very pleased with the build. NCB has done an excellent job. I bring them beer and they let me hang out. Win win situation for all. Few pics turned out blurry.

Well since you asked...the 59hp was a prototype built for Aaron to test.He never installed it, the LP is a 72. I was messing around. The 59 has some additional turbine work. No clue if it went into production. Owner at NCB took set up off his truck a while back, and I traded him my tow powers and a good time for them.
