Okay first time with doing a powerstroke rebuild.

Had the whole engine rebuilt and wwas wondering what we need to do to start it the right way.

1. How do we fill the oil. Any special way to fill the hoop to get oil redally available to the injectors?

2. Should I fill the fuel bowl with fuel?

Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Fill the reservoir, then pull the cps and crank until your dash gauge reads pressure. Plug cps in and start it. It would help to have the oil rails as full as possible before trying to start it

Other than the normal stuff:

You should to pull the front oil rail plugs on each head. (If the front passenger one is to hard to get to then pull the next one.) Fill them both until full.

Fill the HPOP reservoir thru the inspection or oil temp port. Then close it up and crank the engine over but do not try to start it. Then pull the plug on the res again and fill it again. Repeat that a few times till the oil level stays steady near the top. Then go pull the ICP sensor from the rail and see if its full. It should barely dribble out. An air bubble many times forms there and takes forever to get out if you do not pull the sensor.

Then go ahead and fire it up. Have a battery charger handy as it may take a bunch of cranking or it may start up in a 5-10 seconds. If you do those things it should start without crazy amounts of cranking as long as everything else is right. Make sure all the wire harness connectors are on the correct sensors.
