New heads

I sure this is a silly question
But here it goes. I just got my new heads for
My 6.0 and the intake, exhaust, and rocker box sealing surfaces are painted black.
Do i have to remove this paint im thinking i do. This is the first time ive had new heads for a motor so not sure

and yes of course you want a clean mounting surface.......

Clean it off with a razor blade. Should peel right off with little effort.
