I have a 95 7.3l, it's not charging and no battery light. I swapped the alternator with a good working one from one of my other truck's and I checked all the fuses and checked the instrument cluster to see if I had a burned out bulb and nothing. Someone please help or at least point me in the right direction

12v should be on the little wire to excite the alternator field.

Ok thanks, are you thinking far left of the alternator and above the output post?

I must have missed that post. Some of those trucks had a fuse and or relay on the engine side of the firewall, but I think those were on the gas versions.

Should probably find a schematic and see were power comes from.
