obd testing

What all can an emmissions test at the obd port find? I dont have to deal with it right now because I live in Alaska so I dont know. I want to get rid of the egr system but I dont know if an obd test will pick that up. Thanks in advance.

OBD testing will only reveal conditions that the ECU recognizes as requirement to set a DTC.
If you have the ECU convinced that nothing is wrong, their OBD scanner will be none the wiser. Visual inspection is typically the tough one.

Ok thanks. Where I am moving to, they have safety and obd testing so I wanted to make sure that if I deleted my egr system they wouldnt be able to detect it being gone.

The obd scanner they use for emissions will most likely see the egr as "not ready" since its not longer there anymore. In Ontario,Canada emissions testing both egr and dpf showed up as not ready if they are not there, no codes present but they mostly go by readiness monitors here.
