Stupid EGR... Anyways it's been a while since I've done one of these. Just got my tunes in and let it idle for a bit and all was good and shut it down. Went to start it up and took her around the block and the P0404 came up.
Running spartan 210 for now until I get studs and a new clutch.
Is it the EGR itself or a sensor?

that code would be for the valve itself.

it references the desired versus actual % thats commanded.

if the pcm commanded 30% pintle movement, and it only moved 5%,it will throw that code.

if you have a diagnostic scanner, that you can by directional testing with?
pull the valve off the truck, command it open with the scanner. see how it reacts. you can also do a koer test.

did you have this code with the truck stock?

Never had any issues before since I've had the truck. I just did the DPF/CAT delete last night when it happen. Figured the tune itself would turn the EGR off.
I will be getting rid of the system soon, just need time to work on the truck

Did you use a tune that shuts it off I know.spartan had egr and non egr tunes if you have a non egr tune just unplug the egr valve

You can check egr flow/function with the dashdaq. I think it's egrpct.

I had the same problem when I ran spartan tunes.
EGR functioning in every tune but 275.
275 was undriveable though ... Surging, extremely sensitive accelerator pedal, 100* hotter Egt, puked easily.
Hope it works better for you but you might want to take it easy.

Yeah, logged into that to check, stays at 0.
275 is very touchy with a manual but I've got it down a bit. Ill tell you this much... Touchy throttle and getting started uphill = tire smoke LOL

Egr valve may be sticky.

Keep an eye on your degas bottle.

275 with a grabby dual disc will be even more fun. Just letting the clutch out, no throttle input the truck just lurches forward, wouldn't bog down at all. Cool exhaust sound too.

What are you looking to get for a clutch?

I'm planning for a SB 3850.
I'm already planning on tearing the top end apart, but with less then 5k on the ticker I'm not too worried.
1stvhear here is pretty much letting off the clutch and going to second. The power band is something new for me, especially with a manual.

Yeah, I couldn't take the regen anymore. After monitoring it I knew it had to go.
Big difference I can tell you that lol. The brittle is real touchy so I had to learn how to deal with that till I get the EGR delete for the lower tunes.

The stock one probably not worth a poop.

My buddy's slipped at anything past half throttle on the 210.

It has a south bend of some type in it now. Can't remember the number.

I keep mine on the 250 tune with stock clutch and can slip it at will. Had it like this for over two years now. The clutch is starting to rattle in neutral however so I will be looking to upgrade soon. I'm also thinking of finally updating my dashdaq to get the bigger tunes so it's just a matter of time before the stocker is going to give up.

The rattle won't bother me it's going to be the "grabbiness" I will have trouble with. I haul lots of trailers and also snowplow with it.

You are NOT going to like that clutch for plowing snow. Either that or you are gonna have a right leg that you could leg press 10,000lbs with lol.
