Ok, let me start by saying I do not deny the merits of the PHP Hydra. It holds up to 15 tunes and you do not have to remove it to have it reburned. Rather, you just hook up the laptop while it is the truck. Greatness.

Now is it just me or is this thing as cheesy looking in a truck as it is in the pictures?

I am looking for a chip for my 2000 and think the look of the 6 pos. chip will match the interior better than the interface on the Hydra. However, I love the functionality of the Hydra as stated in my first paragraph. is there anything that offers the best of both worlds?

I think it was here but once saw a pic of someone's 6 pos. chip and it had a cool looking indicator on the dial telling you which position it was in. Anyone else see that?

I am ordering from Gearhead and just curious of others impressions.

Can someone post a pic of it in their truck(s) so I can see what it looks like and get some mounting ideas?

Thanks,
Rascal

I am working on a couple mount options, one in a gauge pod, and one recessed into the dash. I just have not had time to finish.

The one shown I could make for you in a few minutes in the shop, free of charge.

Hydra is the cats meow... Nothing better on the market IMHO.

You'll get over it I was weary of getting it because how it looked in the pics but its actually really nice. Dont hesitate to buy a hydra. I mounted mine next to my DP- Tuner controller. Right where Joe has his mounted is a perfect spot.

With a quick look on PHPs website, they provide a link for dealers to get their own switch overlays made. Has anyone checked to see if anyone like Tony or maybe Matt have their own overlays for the Hydra switch?

The mount looks great. I agree with you its awesome. I am with one of the other posters who said it best when they thought it looked like something from a 70's concert.

More than likely this is how I will mount mine. I do like the gauge mount though.

the gauge mount is killer but clearly i don't have gauges so it doesn't work for me. planning a mount on the center console for the insight and hydra but no time so far. my only downside to this placement is that i have long legs. if i slouch down in the seat waiting for someone or relaxing on my lunch break my knee bumps it. nbd normally but in the way nonetheless.

OK, does anyone that has been around for more then lets say....10years............ not see how the logo fits PHP and the owners.

Think Chat Nite with a DJ

Dieselsite has one of the better looking logos in my opinion.
