Pre/post 400/800 flash

I have a 13 so I'm not as concerned but I was wondering if anyone knows if u had a pre ford update flash truck and installed lets say HS tunes (off road of course) would u have less power than the same tuner installed on a post flash truck or will the aftermarket tuner override
