Looking for advise/opinions from guys that have personal experience with gapless piston rings.

Is this a good idea on a street application? Any downsides? I was planning on running the rings that came with the International Pistons, just trying to see if there is really a benefit in a street application. I don't want to have to pull this engine down once a year or anything just to put rings in it. If the factory International rings will work fine and give me more longevity, thats probably what I'm going to stick with. I'd rather lose out on a few HP to gain reliability.

Thoughts?

when i did mine, we put a gapless upper in, and a stock bottom.

something about compression getting stuck between the rings on a daily driver, it was recommended to not run both rings gapless, to just run 1.

Well, it's finally starting to go together! Short block is going together nicely. Should have ported cylinder heads soon.

I don't remember the brand name. I bought it from carquest a few years ago. I will look on Monday and see if it has a manufacturer label somewhere.

It's rated for 1200 lbs IIRC

Sorry guys. Been pretty busy and wanted to update this with a good informative post rather than just throwing some pictures up. I have a bunch of photos on my DSLR that we'll be using in Diesel World, but my cell phone pictures will have to do for now. Didn't mean to leave you out of the loop.

Since this hasn't been updated for a while, I'll start with some of the details.

Piston Rings were DLC coated
Clevite Main and Rod Bearings, coated by Swain Tech
R&R connecting Rods
Elite Stage 1X cam
New Ford lifters

AND an intake manifold that we will be releasing very soon after some more testing. It's an all Billet aluminum intake, no more cutting up or plunging stands out of the factory intake. This starts life over 100 pounds of aluminum and is less than 8 pounds when finished. Lots of time and development has gone into this. We have a few things to tweak before production but the prototype is on my wife's truck currently. Sorry, no pricing will be out until we get finished with the design. I will post better pictures once I get them off of my other camera.

The truck Dyno'd 595Hp and 1238 ft lbs at Toops Performance before we tore it down. This was with a 5" Flo Pro exhaust and H&S Mini Maxx with Gearhead tunes. Everything else remained factory, including the air intake which I had never changed the filter since we bought it. Sorry no sheet yet, I haven't been able to get it emailed to me yet...

These are all the pictures I have for now. If you have any questions, fire away and I'll try to respond to them as quickly as I can. We are planning to put a few hundred more miles on it and dyno it for some new numbers. I'll keep you up to date as we get new info. There is probably a lot that I'm forgetting, this build was huge and we did it in 10 days. Sorry if I left anyone out, it was certainly not intentional.

Thanks guys!!!
